How to add your business to Apple Maps

Apple Maps (or, to use its official name, Places on Maps) is Apple’s own navigation tool. Not only is it automatically on the home screen of every single Apple device (that’s every iPhone, iPad and Mac), Apple Maps is also integrated with Siri, and even pulls together crowd-sourced information about local businesses, such as reviews, ratings, photos and even turn-by-turn directions. And there's more good news. In true Apple style, getting set up with Places on Maps is smooth as smooth can be. Here’s how to do it.

1. Get your Apple ID handy

You’re going to need an Apple ID. Not got one yet? You can easily create one here.

2. Head to Places On Maps

Go to the Places On Maps page of the Apple Business Register. If you’ve already claimed a place, go ahead and log in. If you haven’t yet claimed a place, you’ll want to search for your business to see if it’s listed.

3. Found it? Claim it

If your business comes up in the search, it’s time to claim it. This involves a verification process, where you’ll be asked to either answer a call to your business’s number, or upload proof of your business address.

4. Not there? Add it

If your business is missing, you can add it. You’ll be guided through a simple form that asks for basic information about your business, like your address, contact details, your website and which business category you’re in. Once you’ve entered all the details there’s a short verification process to go through. It's just to check you’re the rightful owner of the place you’re adding.

5.Edit your Place

Once all the checks are done, you can start adding those all-important details to your listing. You can edit all of the existing information, move the Apple Maps red pin to your precise location, specify your opening hours, add your social accounts and more.  Once you’re done, hit Submit for Review. And keep your eyes fixed on Apple Maps: your business should be added in about one week.
